Heather was startled in the midst of her work by the sound of her phone ringing; she shook her head, clearing the dancing words from her tired eyes, and looked over to the side of the desk where her phone sat, buzzing against the wood. Picking it up, she gave a little squeal of delight when she saw the name on the screen, accompanied by a picture: Robert, it said. She pressed the icon to accept the call and brought the phone to her ear. “Oh my god Rob it’s so good of you to call,” she said in a rush; they had been separated for weeks while he went on promotional rounds, doing interviews and press engagements, making appearances.
