“Ugh,” Sarah sneered quietly, “don’t look now, but Matt is behind you.”
The girls pushed their heads down and looked at the floor, pretending to be continuing with their warm up. The room was starting to fill with a plethora of slim, toned bodies, dressed in a variety of multi-coloured leotards that hugged bones and muscles and tights. The studio was large and open, with a laminate wood flooring and a wall covered in mirrors so that the dancers could check their positioning. Several little groups had formed around the room, friends catching up with each other after a few days of not seeing each other, guggling on water and stretching out cold muscles.
The heating had been ramped up in order to make everyone more limber, and several of the more muscly guys were starting to show the beginnings of back sweat patches. In the background, some calm classical music hummed, mostly drowned out by the chatter but it still got a few people dancing along to the beat.
