Tom and Grace were lying in bed, arms wrapped around each other. Rain was lightly pattering on the window and the sound echoed in the hollowness of their room. The lights were off and the moon was hiding behind clouds outside, so there was no respite from the darkness and it was pitch black even when they opened their eyes.
