Marci and Timothy had just been married. They were both very practical people and so they were, naturally, proud of the frugality of the wedding. Marci had sewn her own wedding dress and it had only cost her three hundred dollars. It wasn’t a white dress, which Marci had decided was a terrible color for her. With her pale skin and almost white-blonde hair, and long, slender legs, Marci looked quite stunning in her short, sweetheart neckline, blush-colored silk and tulle dress. Quite frankly, Marci was a snob and Timothy, a newly minted actuary, was one as well.
Both Marci and Timothy had come from rather humble beginnings, which made them even more insufferable as far as their attitudes were concerned to at least one of their friends.
“For Christ’s sake,” whined Angela, Marci’s closest friend. Angela was another pale blonde, skinny, Mia Farrow-look-a-like girl.
Angela yelled to no one in particular: “Marci is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Timothy is from Detroit!”
