Sadie is at a local rock concert when she spots Landon, lead guitarist of her favorite band who broke up. Their common love for music as well as the fact that Sadie doesn’t just fawn over him like a fan girl leads to an instantaneous connection.

Walking into the concert I notice that there are an awful lot of attendees under 18. I used to love concerts, and really I still do, except now it also makes me feel old. I am only just turning twenty, but all of a sudden it seems the alternative music scene has been taken over by these barely teens that want to be hardcore but really just pretend to be bad, or they end up a tragedy trying so hard to be cool that they go overboard with booze, drugs, and mischief.
This concert, however, is not my usual scene anyway. It’s a local gig that I’ve only been to twice; an annual concert mixing some well known bands with a lot of unknowns in order to boost their chance of being discovered. The two times I came before was to see my favorite band, Chained Pleather, and the first time had been the one that launched their career. The second time they headlined.
This year they wouldn’t be here, and probably not any year after that. About a year ago a difference of musical opinion and a stint in rehab for the drummer led to their ultimate demise…
