Jody sighed as she pulled up to Jack’s Cowgirls, the bar she worked at, in her old Toyota. She knew they could hear the awful sounds it made form inside the bar, announcing her arrival. It was moments like these that she wondered why’d she insisted on paying for her own car instead of letting her father buy her one when she left for college. She had told him she wanted to feel some sort of independence, though after six months of hell in the dorms she had broken down and let him help get her an apartment.
Still, she wanted to know that she was doing something for herself, so she went out and got this silly job at the suggestion of one of her old roommates who had always thought Jody had a nice body. And while sometimes she found the job to be a bit humiliating for a girl about to be attending law school, she had to admit that taking her out of her comfort zone had really helped her to come into herself as an adult and away from her shy nature.
