Scarred by having her heart broken last Christmas, Tracy wants to shut the world out around this festive time of year. As she moves through the town her bitterness grows and she eagerly closes the door to her apartment, waiting for the New Year to begin when she doesn’t have to be reminded how lonely she is.
However, she receives an unexpected knock on the door from her new neighbor, a young man called Dwayne, and suddenly Christmas starts to seem a little brighter.

It was late December and town was congested with stressed people moving about in a swarm, trying to pick out presents for loved ones. However, what should have been a joyful task seemed to be a chore for everyone. Tempers were short and bursts of curse words flew from tired mouths.
Scowled, angry faces were everywhere to be seen and the backdrop of flashing lights and cheerful music seemed quite the ironic contrast. Christmas spirit seemed to be in short supply all around, most notably in the case of Tracy, who was battling her way through the mob all for the sake of a few daily supplies. Her patience was wearing very thin, and after being shoved for the hundredth time she exhaled sharply and had to forcibly stop herself from exploding in a fit of rage.
