“Well, the good news,” Angela said as she slid into the seat across from me, “Jared doesn’t want a prenup. The bad news is, he does want a restraining order.” The waitress brought coffee and we both ordered pancakes. “So, I guess the wedding is really off.” She sighed.
“I would have thought the wedding was off when Jared went to Paris for a month with the woman from accounting,” I said. “I mean, that would be my first clue. The second clue would be when he said; ‘Angela, I don’t want to marry you’.”
“No, no, it was “Angela, I have no INTENTION of marrying you,” she corrected me.
“My mistake, either way, that would have been a pretty good clue.”
“I was holding out hope,” she said, “a girl has to hope.”
“A girl has to stalk too, apparently.” I poured cream, real cream, into my coffee. “I love that they still have real cream here.”
