Louise hurriedly put her light blue scrubs on and laced up her sneakers. She was running late and her resident would not be happy. She was an intern specializing in family medicine and the person in charge of making sure she didn’t kill anyone was somewhat of a hard ass. Her steps were quick, more like a power walk. She was out of breath when she got to the clinic and she stopped for a second to calm her breathing, hoping it wouldn’t be obvious that she was running late.
Louise had wanted to be a doctor as long as she could remember. When her grandparents and friends came over she would play doctor, she had always made sure to have plenty of bandages on hand. Now she was a real doctor who now brought home bandages for her family’s use, no longer needing them for play.
