Member-only story
A painter, an artist, a woman who returns time and time again to this small summer town. She comes to hide and believes she is invisible. But is she really?
What will happen to this need to be alone when she meets a man willing to give her just what she thinks she wants?
Will her heart change, will she open her doors, will she venture into the unknown?
Possibly not, but, summer is a time when possibility reigns.

Rain.
In waves and rhythms.
Pelting. Drizzling. Sheeting. Blinding. Caressing.
Rain.
Coffee in an oversized cup, sweater over my shoulders, the girlhood joy of a swing on a covered porch. The view of the bay two hundred yards away. The smell of late summer heightened by the rain.
The wonder heightened by desire, shaking the bolts of my careful reality that keep me fastened to the ground. Keep me from springing into the air, flying out into the rain soaked night. The words wander in my head. The images flicker, flashing films on the screen of my mind. The pulse of pleasure. The touch of possible.
