Mariana slaved away everyday doing one of the most menial jobs in existence. It didn’t pay very well, but she wasn’t sure what else to do with herself. She was good at her job and she was loyal to the hotel and she had two kids at home that needed to eat. It was the two kids at home that kept her getting up at 6 a.m., six days a week and dragging herself back through the door at 6 p.m. at night. Her day off moved around and was based mostly on how full the hotel was. She simply did what she had to do and thought about it as little as possible.
