The nudge on Jane’s elbow made her spill some of the wine from the glass she was holding down the front of her skirt. A quiet curse sprang from her lips and she turned around to berate the person behind to watch what they were doing.
“C’mon,” she started in an annoyed voice. “Be careful will you. You’re making me…” The words stopped as she lifted her gaze from the glass to the face of the watching man and realized who it was. “You have got to be kidding me,” she let out in a surprised tone as she found herself staring in the eyes of an ex-boyfriend.
Chad laughed. “Shit…, sorry Jane,” he apologized as he looked down at her skirt. “Someone knocked into me as they moved past and I couldn’t help bumping into you. This place is so crowded.”
