“Leigh, don’t keep throwing it to that one! Look, that little one over there is practically begging for some.”
As he says this Mark tosses over a small piece of bread and the little duck scurries over to it, taking it in its beak and wolfing it down. Other ducks circle around it but the bread is gone, so they are forced to wait and look expectantly at us for more. Their quacking is incessant and makes a cacophony of noise, I’m almost worried that people are going to come over to our kitchen window and tell us to stop. I dig into the bag and tear apart another slice of white bread. It’s soft in my hands and it rips apart easily.
