It was already ten o’clock when Courtney King decided to head home for the day. This was her second month since she opened the doors of her coffee shop and culinary arts to the world and so far it was so damn good.
As she watched Mona, her best employee, do the day’s calculations, she could not help but feel proud of herself. Courtney started out as a waitress at the local Java Hut but her culinary skills were quickly recognised by the manager who decided to give her a shot in the kitchen. This was a defining moment for Courtney, one she remembered all too well.
“What do you mean you want me in the kitchen? Don’t you like my work? Am I not doing my job to your satisfaction?” she asked sadly. The manager laughed.
