Amanda Brown has begun her ascent, as a clothing designer, into the higher echelons, rising high enough that she is becoming famous, much to her dismay. Because of this new found, and unwanted, fame, she is forced by her company to attend the Spring fashion week in Milan, Italy. If that wasn’t bad enough, she is also being forced to attend several of the industry parties.
Amanda prefers her apartment in New York and her small work area at her company’s building. She loves to design, but that is all she loves about her industry. During her first full day in Milan she is required to attend the runway showing for her designs. The experience is just as she feared it would be, maybe a little worse. While still shaken by the experience she meets Gary Taylor, a buyer, who begins to open her shell enough to have a chance at shucking it completely.
