Carrie’s grunts echoed around the home gym. She pressed against the weights and the strain was so intense that her muscles screamed with agony. Her body was slick with sweat and her chest was heaving as she pushed her aching body to the limits. One of the walls was a mirror and as she let the weights fall to the floor she looked at her reflection.
‘Still not perfect, but that’s enough for today,’ she thought. She grabbed her bottle of water and took controlled sips, resisting the urge to gulp down mouthfuls.
