“I want it,” Alice whispered to her friend Jamie.
Their boss was talking to the whole group. They were on a car lot, and the job was selling used cars. Every day Alice came in, and sold people the perfect car for them. Well, either that or the most expensive car that they would accept before they walked out the door. Whatever got the job done, and put another sale on her record.
“So when you make a sale this month,” Mr. Hicks said, “You make sure to put another mark on your record sheet. Then at the end of the month, we’ll sit back down and talk about the grand prize.”
Jamie leaned in, “Who is even going to fight you for it? You always sell the most cars.”
