Josefina Cortez stared out into the waves crashing strongly along the coastline. The sky was overcast and the wind stirred up the scent of the ocean in the air.
Her young grandson ran out of the house, calling for her, “Nana! Nana!” She scooped the small boy up in her arms. “Why are you out here in the wind Nana?”
“I’m just taking it all in dear.” She set him back down in the sand.
