Member-only story
Holly lives in a dirty, grimy city and the only release she has from her life is her job. She’s a belly dancer at a bar and whenever she performs it feels like she’s putting on a mask, because every day she’s feeling a little older.
She’s always had the image of a dream man in her mind, and this is one of the reasons why she’s still single, and during one performance she encounters a man who eerily resembles the image she’s held in her mind and in her heart, and as they dance together she feels something wholly unusual.

Holly walked along the sidewalk dressed in a long overcoat. She looked plain and blended into the crowd. She was of average height and was in her mid-40s, and to her dismay the lines on her face were getting deeper every day. No-one really paid any attention to her; she wasn’t spectacular in any way and was just one face among many.
She watched on in envy as younger, prettier, and more glamorous girls received attention from guys walking by while she may as well have been invisible. It wasn’t even as though she could comfort herself with the knowledge that she had someone to return home to.
